Victor Cruz contract 2013
Victor
Cruz contract 2013 offered somewhere of a 5-year deal worth $36million with $12
to $15 million of it guaranteed. The giants offered Victor Cruz contract 2013.
Schwartz feels he deserves the money.
New
York giant Paul Schwartz recently wrote:
“The
Giants want to make Cruz rich, but he wants to become richer.”
Victor
Cruz contract 2013 can accept the Giants offer or he can sign a one-year
contract for nearly $3million. If he accepts the offer he will be unrestricted
free agent after next season.
Cruz
is a restricted free agent. If he signs the deal he can sign with any team he
wants. If he accepts the Giants offer Cruz could once again take in at least
$12-15million over the next few years.
And it could be possible that Cruz have a huge 2013 season which he
would be one of the underpaid star in the NFL.
In
2010, Smith was offered a six year, $36 million deal from the Giants, with $15
million guaranteed. Smith rejected the deal, subsequently tore up his knee, and
now floats among NFL teams as a low-paid backup. As Schwartz put it about
Smith, “the pot of gold he eschewed [is] gone forever.”
Going
back to the 1998 NFL Draft, Peyton Manning was picked first by the Indianapolis
Colts, and then Ryan Leaf 2nd by the San Diego Chargers.
Many
draft experts and team general managers though Leaf had the greater upside, and
both were rewarded with very impressive contracts.
But
once play started it was apparent that Manning was underpaid, and as Leaf was
out of the league within a few years, he was clearly overpaid. As is always the
case, pay is a speculation.
Jim
Harbaugh signed a 6-year deal to coach the San Francisco. The pay was said to
be in the $6 million/year range, but as Harbaugh took the ‘49ers to an NFC
Championship in year one, followed by the Super Bowl in year two, it’s very
apparent that the ‘49ers underpaid when they signed him.
If
Cruz has a big 2013 season, $36 million over five years will be a bargain for
them. At the same time Cruz’s numbers could decline, or as was the case with
DeSean Jackson this past season, injury could keep him off the field for a lot
of games, at which point they’ll have overpaid him.
Cruz
could sign a participation agreement allowing him to take part in the workouts
without signing an actual contract.
Victor
chose not to come at the New York Giants facility.
"Guys
have choices. Andre chose to come; Victor chose not to come," general
manager Jerry Reese said. "Victor's not here, he's a free agent, he's
exercising all of his options and we'll see how it goes."
"Obviously,
he's a big part of what we were doing the past few years. He did a nice job,
just like Nicks did a nice job, just like a lot of players did a nice
job," Reese said.
"It's
all about the team for us. Victor was a nice piece for what we were doing, and
we'll see where it goes with respect to his contract."
Cruz
was paid a base salary of $540,000 in 2012, when he caught 86 passes and had 10
touchdowns. This year's tender would pay him $2.879 million, if he signs it.
"I
don't assume anything," said Reese, who said the Cruz situation won't
affect the team's approach to next week's draft. "I can tell you this:
When we get ready to play, when the season starts, we'll have good players out
there. I'm not sure if Victor will be there or not. I don't assume
anything."
My Opinion
Victor
Cruz contract 2013 is a tough decision. Victor Cruz contract 2013 is something
to look forward too. If he signs the Giants offer well its huge money. He’s
future will be settled but he should think deeply. If he wants a big money next
year he should wait to sign a multi-year contract.
Plus
Cruz is skipping the Giant’s team workout which means he’s putting pressure to
the team go get a deal.
Well
we should wait until the Cruz will sign the contract or not. I know he still
confuse right now with his Victor Cruz contract 2013.
Victor
Cruz contract 2013 is very important because it will take part of his career
for the coming years.
